Date of Birth: Saturday, 20 January 1968

Nobel is the top model in modeling industry of Bangladesh

Whether it is for a television advert or to just simply adorn the latest offering of a fashion house on hoarding boards; Adil Hossain Noble has established himself as one of the most sought-after and recognisable faces in the modelling industry.

Outside the focus of camera lenses, there are quite a few dimensions to his life, starting with his role as a successful official at a multinational company.

A lot of Noble’s time is also devoted to his family, whether it’s playing tennis with his seven-year-old son, taking the family out on weekend trips, or simply spending time with his own parents.

Adding to that, Noble confesses to having over a hundred close friends with whom, he regularly engages in addas.

So how does he manage to lead such an active life, on top of regularly maintaining shooting schedules? ‘There’s no magic involved, I’m just able to manage my time effectively enough,’ he said.

Over the last decade and a half, Noble has enjoyed a great deal of success as one of the country’s top male models but still perceives it more as a hobby rather than a career.

In fact, it was the indifference in the attitudes of a few of his cousins shown towards his work that inspired him to persist with modelling and take it as a challenge in life. And 16 years on, it has paid great dividends.

‘It was under the insistence of Naser bhai (ad maker) and his wife Tulie apa, who felt that I had a photogenic appearance, that I gave modelling a try,’ said Noble.

‘I got my first break in 1991 for a television advert of Sprite but unfortunately, it was never aired,’ he recalled.

His next opportunity came in the form of another television advert of Azad ball pen, which propelled his modelling career while later ads such as that of HRC tea only affirmed his status as a leading model. Noble though, remains philosophical about his successes so far.

‘I consider success to be something of a continuing journey rather than a destination, with each success opening the door to another.’

Noble has also acted in a number of dramas and serials and his dedication to the demands of his roles has never been more apparent than in one particular instance in the drama ‘Black November’, which was telecast on TV last Eid.

‘I was so into the emotions of my character that during one tearful scene, I actually shed real tears.’

Born in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazaar, Noble completed his primary and secondary education from Chittagong Govt High school and Chittagong College respectively, before moving to Dhaka to further his education.

Upon completing his Honours and MBA, he gladly took the opportunity to join Coats Bangladesh Ltd, a leading thread manufacturing company. This has turned out to be a ‘dream job’ for Noble who is currently working as a manager in the company.

Another side of Noble, not known to many, is his abilities as a cricketer. Having always been a good cricketer from his college days, he is currently the best player at his company, earning a number of accolades along the way in the annual cricket competitions held between companies of British origin.

And it was during the course of his work at the company where he first met his wife, Sayeeda Sajed Shampa, also a model, who came to work as an intern there before the two started growing a liking for each other.

The couple share two children, Nameera Armin and Zunain Hossain, with Noble being a big fan of his wife’s cooking, especially the desserts she prepares for him.

‘I enjoy what she prepares for me especially the Kacchi and the Thai soup although I must say that when it comes to the usual items like fish, meat or vegetables, there is nothing extraordinary in that, in terms of taste,’ he quipped.

On a personal note, Noble takes great pleasure in helping other people but there is one trait that sometimes gets the better of him.

‘I have a bad temper but I do my best to control it.’

‘I would like to carry on with what I am doing but in future, I would want to start my own business, but only after my retirement,’ he concluded.
